Having spent the last decade locked away in studios banging away on drum machines and crafting House tracks that defy categories, Luke Van Sheppingen, aka Laidback Luke, finally broke through to the top of the game over the past few years.  His list of notable releases is overwhelming by industry standards and surpasses those who for some reason or another sit atop the net's most reputable "Top DJ" charts (his 2009 ranking in DJ mag is only # 29).  Critics have blasted him for crossing sub genres too much with songs that are Electro ("Rocking With The Best", MSTRKRFT "Heartbreaker" remix, "Blau", "Hey"), Progressive ("Step By Step", "Be") and now in 2010 he is attempting to crossover and top the charts (and the world) with his latest Trance infused Electro Dance hit "Til Tonight".  The Philippines born  and Dutch raised producer dropped his first single in the late 90's but remixing became his claim to fame after turning out reworkings for Green Velvet and Daft Punk to name a few.  With the rise of Electro he found his niche but what truly took him to new heights was his collaborative efforts with the Swedish House Mafia, Steve Angello in particular.  This team dropped massive tunes from 2008 to now that have become ubiquitous at clubs world wide including "Leave The World Behind" and the Robyn S. "Show Me Love" / "Be" remix.  In all he has released a staggering 70+ tracks, not including unofficial bootleg remixes, since 2007!
