As the international Dubstep scene steadily spreads out from the U.K. to win over the EDM community world wide, one name stands out as the go to guy when novices are looking to hear what this genre is all about.  Rusko came up as a musician influenced by the Drum n Bass music of the late 90's.  When DnB faded and was overtaken by Garage, Two Step, and Grime it was only a matter of time before the crowd that was so enthralled by the movement would resurrect the sound in a new form.  Dubstep, the down tempo cousin to DnB, began as a chill and bass heavy Dub Reggae influenced club music (imagine Jungle without the crazy drums), that is, until Rusko hit the scene.  Widely credited for ramping up the frantic bass lines and drum patterns with buzzier and heavier wobbly subs, the Rusko aesthetic became the standard for all tracks to follow.  Moving the style away from ambient reggae stepping to Hip-Hop head nodding has made the genre the latest craze since Electro.  Can Rusko take it mainstream?  With the release of his full length album O.M.G. (Mad Decent Records) he is hoping to get it a few steps further to global acceptance as more than a novelty style for the side stage at a rave.
