This month's guest at The Fringe is Miami's own DJ D-Up.  He is currently spinning @ some of Miami's best hot spots.  Recently he shot over to me this mixtape he worked on for Black Bobby, a MC originally from DC but now taking over the world from his headquarters in Miami.  One listen to PKT (Phat Kid Tendencies) brought me back to the days when Hip-Hop was done right ala The Golden Age!  If you're a fan of The Cool Kids, Mickey Factz, A Tribe Called Quest, Black Moon, Biggie, etc., then do yourself a favor and download both mixtape and the album! In his own words, this Harvard Grad states: Black Bobby’s first mixtape, Phat Kid Tendencies is totally FREE and comes after three long years transitioning from politics to the music industry.  Phat Kid Tendencies is just straight up real hip-hop utilizing freestyles over familiar classic beats, original songs, and re-interpretations of some of Bobby’s favorite tunes.  Anyone who loves classic hip-hop will appreciate the mixtape.  Phat Kid Tendencies is Bobby’s life work, is based on his real life, and can be most aptly described as “when keeping it real goes right.”  Phat Kid Tendencies has no features and was recorded by Block Royal in their Miami studio.
