Van Dyk gets techy with new iphone app

PAUL VAN DYK PREMIERS NEW APP FOR iPHONE

The Apple iphone is the ubiquitous tech toy of the hour.  It's enough to make you (well, me at the very least) feel uncool when chatting it up on my little Nokia (hey, they were hot once too remember).  Well, it looks as though this might be a long term trend.  It is safe to assume that ipods may have died an early death if not for the brilliant foresight to marry the invention with itunes, it's very own market place.  Similarly, Apple has found a new phenomenon in, not the phone, but, the iphone App.  Evidence can be found in the near billion sales of Apps since their launch.  The applications have transcended the communication device to time passing toy and to near limitless tool for aiding in daily chores and professional scenarios.  If that sounds boring then you can always download the Fart App to keep you chuckling.

With the trend noticeably growing it was only a matter of time before a celebrity came out with their own.  Enter dance giant Paul Van Dyk, DJ/Producer extraordinaire, with his application for music professionals and wannabes alike (created & developed by Zip Design and Yuza Mobile).  If you're a DJ, roadie, producer or engineer you'll be excited to hear it boasts a BPM Counter, Frequency Analyzer, Decibel Meter, Seismic Reader, DJ Check List, and Itinerary Manager (see photos below).  Even if you're just a raver who left his glow sticks at home, don't fret, this App contains a Virtual Glow Stick.  I'm assuming the glow stick can also be used to waive back and forth during "Don't Stop Believing" at my next Journey concert....I've said too much....

The App will be available at the end of May for the low low price of $1.99!  With that being said, keep your ears and eyes open for the recently announced Trent Reznor NIN App that should be hitting the streets soon as well.  I'm guessing Dr. Dre or Timbaland is next...we'll keep you posted.
